Moonshot Insurance, Societe Generale Assurances insurtech, is launching a brand new insurance product to prevent and protect families from cyberbullying.

Cyberbullying is defined as the intentional and repeated use of defamatory or offensive language through communications means against an isolated person. In recent years, this phenomenon has increased: today, more than 20% of young people aged from 8 to 18 have already been victims of cyber harassment (according to the study by the French association e-enfance).

Becoming an actor in the fight against cyber harassment and online hate: a responsible and civic commitment for Moonshot Insurance

To act effectively against the massive dissemination of hateful messages, Moonshot Insurance is launching a new offer that combines the unique technological solution in Europe of Bodyguard.ai (the application for protection against dangerous content on social networks) and the innovative insurance and prevention offer of Moonshot Insurance.

This offer, which is based on 3 pillars, responds to the growing needs of all families in front of the risks of cyber harassment and allows:

  • Detect and delete in real time dangerous content on 4 of the social networks considered among the most negative for the well-being of young people: Instagram, Youtube, Twitter and Twitch ,thanks to the algorithms developed in NLP (Natural Language Processing) by Bodyguard.ai, integrated into its mobile application;
  • Characterize: through access to cyberbullying experts from the Bodyguard.ai app and access to best practice and steps to take from the Moonshot Insurance insured area;
  • Resolve: through a health support package for victims of cyberbullying or on another electronic communication medium (and with filing of a complaint):
    • Possibility of consulting specialists: psychologist, sophrologist, acupuncturist and nutritionist;
    • Reimbursement of consultation fees or remaining costs up to a maximum of 400 euros (including tax) upon presentation of invoices.

The primary objective of this insurance is to prevent and protect young people, but also to support them and their parents in the event of proven cyberbullying. This innovation has already received two awards at the 20th edition of the  French Insurance Trophies 2021 organised by the media “L’assurance en Mouvement”: the Gold Trophy in the Citizen Innovation category and the Silver Policyholder Trophy in the service category.
