Life insurance : financial reserves and average rate 2017

In the current financial environment of low interest rates, Sogecap, Societe Generale group’s life insurance company and leading bancassurance player in France:

- Continued to boost its financial reserves very significantly to raise them above 5% of
outstandings in euros at the end of 2017;
- And leveled off the average rate credited to policyholders on its euro fund at 1.76%* (compared with an average rate of 1.74%* for the previous year).

This strong and cautious financial policy favors the security of rates credited to policyholders in a longterm perspective and is consistent with the long-term investment objective of life insurance.
